Run EDMT

Before you begin

Set the maximum file size for the data files on the database to Unrestricted growth. For more information, refer to the Cisco Unified Contact Center Enterprise Installation and Upgrade Guide at http://www.cisco.com/en/US/products/sw/custcosw/ps1844/prod_installation_guides_list.html.

Procedure

Step 1

Run edmt.exe.

Note

If you are configuring SQL services to run as Virtual account (NT SERVICE) or Network Service account (NT AUTHORITY\NETWORK SERVICE), you must run EDMT as an administrator.

Step 2

Click Next.

The Migration Version/Migration Type dialog appears. This dialog of the EDMT Wizard is common to both the Common Ground and the Technology Refresh upgrades. It contains two sections, the Migration Version section and the Migration Type section.
Step 3

Select the appropriate migration type by clicking the appropriate radio button in the Migration Type section.

In a Common Ground migration, you migrate the Logger or HDS database in place. The migration modifies the existing database schema from a Unified ICM/CCE 11.0(x) or above version to Unified ICM/CCE 12.0(1). EDMT must run on the server of the source database to be migrated.

For a Technology Refresh upgrade, EDMT runs on the server where you need the new compliant destination database. EDMT automatically performs a backup of the Unified ICM/CCE source database on to the new destination server. Next, EDMT restores the backup to the destination database and migrates the newly restored Unified ICM/CCE 11.0(x) or above database. EDMT automatically deletes the backup file that it created.

Step 4

Click Next to proceed with the selected migration type.

  • The Migration Type affects the sequence of the EDMT wizard.

  • The EDMT shrinks the temp database back to the original size when the data migration completes.
